One of the design goals of the Onyx-I series was to give the mixers visual characters of a digital product. Onyx-I mixers offer professional analog features with digital FireWire interface to mix music in digital domain. One of the major characteristics of digital products is their thinner profile. To give the mixer a thinner profile, we employed an aluminum trim, surrounding three sides of the mixer. Not only does the trim make the mixer look thinner, but also it gives the mixer premium appearance and stiffens the chassis as an added bonus.
